Synopsis
Werner - Beinhart! (1990), released abroad as Werner and the Wizard of Booze, is a cult German animated comedy you can watch online on iFILM. It springs from Rötger "Brösel" Feldmann's hugely popular comic strips about Werner, a beer-loving plumber's apprentice and motorbike fanatic.
Cartoonist Brösel hands over a magic pen in exchange for granting a fairy-tale creature one wish, and Werner's misadventures come to life — building sites, hospital wards, pub arguments and a homemade motorcycle built for insane speed. The hand-drawn episodes are stitched together with live-action scenes from the artist's own life.
