Synopsis
Reel Rock 14 (2019) is a climbing documentary you can watch online on iFILM — four short films shot on real rock, from Yosemite granite to the back country of Mongolia.
The headline story is a speed war on El Cap's Nose, where Tommy Caldwell and Alex Honnold trade the record with Yosemite dirtbags Jim Reynolds and Brad Gobright. Nina Williams pushes highball bouldering far into the no-fall zone. Out in rural Utah, conservative Mormon coal miners and a wave of visiting climbers end up getting along better than anyone expected. And British climbers Hazel Findlay and Maddy Cope chase first ascents in remote Mongolia.
Directed by Josh Lowell and Peter Mortimer, Reel Rock is the annual tour that rounds up the season's best climbing footage.
