Pulse (2006) is a supernatural horror you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jim Sonzero from a script by Wes Craven. The dead have found a way in — through cables, screens and phone signals — and the people who answer simply fade away.

After a friend's suicide, college student Mattie (Kristen Bell) watches the rest of her circle change. Strange messages arrive. Apathy curdles into something emptier, and one by one they stop wanting to exist. Mattie won't accept it. She digs for the source while the city quietly empties out, with Ian Somerhalder as the guy whose secondhand computer cracked a door open.

It remakes Kiyoshi Kurosawa's 2001 Japanese film Kairo, and keeps its slow, grey dread rather than chasing jump scares — the real fear is isolation in a wired world. Best for viewers who like horror that creeps instead of pounces. Stream Pulse online on iFILM.
