Killing Power (Seasons 1–6)

Killing Power (2000) is a Russian crime series you can watch online on iFILM. Konstantin Khabensky and Andrey Fedortsov play Plakhov and Rogov — St. Petersburg detectives who handle everything from neighbourhood disputes to organised crime. Based on the novels of Andrei Kivinov, the show ran on Channel One as the direct rival to Streets of Broken Lanterns.

Most episodes are self-contained cases. The two detectives earn next to nothing, get shot at regularly, and keep working anyway. Directors Alexander Rogozhkin and Sergei Snezhkin shaped the series' dry wit and procedural pace. Gerard Depardieu appears in one episode — either a cameo or the strangest case the precinct ever handled.
