Synopsis
Criminal: Spain (Criminal: España, 2019) is a Netflix crime series you can watch online on iFILM. The whole thing plays out in a single room — the interrogation suite. No chases, no shootouts: just a table, a lamp, a detective, and a suspect who has to be broken with words.
The Spanish branch of the international Criminal project runs three cases, one per episode. Each brings a new person across the table and a fresh psychological duel, where investigators press, bluff and lay traps — and sometimes cross a line themselves to land the confession they need. The faces on both sides of the glass include Emma Suárez, Carmen Machi and Eduard Fernández, and their close-ups carry the whole charge.
Director Mariano Barroso stages it almost like theater: one set, barely any editing tricks, the drama living in pauses and slips of the tongue.
