Synopsis
The Terrible (2020) is a Russian historical drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Director Aleksey Andrianov and lead actor Sergei Makovetsky take on Ivan IV — not the feared tsar of legend, but the person who became him.
Ivan grew up an orphan in the Moscow court, at the mercy of boyars who treated the throne as their personal asset. The humiliations of those years never left him. As he seized control, betrayal came repeatedly from the men he trusted most; the love he found was taken from him inside the palace's web of intrigue. The cast alongside Makovetsky includes Aleksandr Yatsenko, Viktor Sukhorukov, Evgeny Tsyganov and Yuri Kolokolnikov.
