Closed Season (2020) is a Russian mystery-drama series you can watch online on iFILM. A small southern resort town — seafront cafés, homemade wine, charter fishing — looks sleepy and pleasant until healthy people start dying within hours of falling ill.
Moscow sends epidemiologist Evgeny Levin (Kirill Grebenshchikov) to investigate. The local semi-legal businessman Gleb (Maksim Bityukov) and the police chief move to intercept him: a public health shutdown would kill the tourist season, and that matters more to them than the deaths. Levin won't be bought. What Gleb doesn't know is that Levin is the ex-boyfriend of Gleb's own wife — played by Darya Ursulyak — the reason she left Moscow years ago.
Directed by Darya Poltoratskaya, the show balances a procedural outbreak investigation against a tangle of personal stakes without tipping into soap opera. Nellie Uvarova and Pyotr Barancheev also star. Stream Closed Season online on iFILM.
