Synopsis
Nighttime Warbles (2022) is a Japanese drama you can watch online on iFILM. Shinichi had a promising debut as a novelist, but years have passed and he's barely written since. He's also freshly single, and his days have gone flat — until Yuko and her young son move into his house.
She's the ex-wife of a friend, with nowhere else to go. Shinichi takes them in. He writes through the night while Yuko slips out to meet men she doesn't much care about; her son starts looking up to Shinichi in ways that quietly shift the whole arrangement. The two adults keep their distance. Then one night that changes. Adapted from a short story, the film is unhurried and precise — a study of two kinds of loneliness that end up sharing a kitchen.
