Synopsis
"Text. Reality" (2020) is a Russian drama mini-series you can watch online on iFILM — director Klim Shipenko's expanded version of his own film "Text," reworked with alternative scene assembly that changes how the story reads throughout.
Ilya Goryunov served seven years on a planted drug charge. The major who put him there lives well. When they meet, Ilya ends up holding the major's phone: the messages, the photos, the video calls with a girlfriend named Nina (Kristina Asmus) who doesn't know he's gone. He slips into the dead man's life one notification at a time — texting his parents, his colleagues, piecing together secrets no one said out loud. Alexander Petrov plays someone navigating the line between revenge and the unexpected weight of a stolen identity.
The series format gives Glukhovsky's source novel room the film couldn't — shifting the edit order makes each choice feel different. Ivan Yankovskiy and Maxim Vinogradov round out the cast. Stream "Text. Reality" (2020) online on iFILM (18+).
