Synopsis
Alexander I (2025) is a Russian historical drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Yevgeny Romantsov plays the young heir shaped by two competing influences: his grandmother Catherine the Great and his progressive Swiss tutor Lagarp. The ideas they planted did not sit easily on an autocratic throne.
After Catherine's death Alexander held out hope for change under his father Paul. That hope collapsed fast. A palace conspiracy ends Paul's life, and Alexander rises to power carrying guilt that never loosens its grip. Imperial factions keep scheming around him, his mother demands deference, and somewhere to the west Napoleon is assembling the army that will eventually march east.
