Marie and Simon have two kids and a genuine problem: they love each other and cannot stop fighting. The logical option — calling it off — keeps getting rejected. Instead, they draw up a list of ten rules, a joint charter for reclaiming some version of peace in their shared life. The rules are thoughtful. Living by them turns out to require something neither of them expected.
