Kyiv Melodies (Київські мелодії, 1967) is a Soviet short film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Igor Samborsky and starring Ivan Mikolajchuk — best known internationally from Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors.

Twenty minutes of winter Kyiv. A young composer steps out into the snow after a sleepless night, chasing a melody that won't come. He pulls a dazed new father out of a snowdrift near a maternity ward, then spots a girl on a trolleybus and follows her across the city. Every sound he picks up along the way — footsteps, the creak of snow, a tram somewhere in the distance — feeds the piece taking shape in his head.
