Synopsis
Heavenly Puss (1949) is an eight-minute Tom and Jerry short you can watch online on iFILM, directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. One botched chase ends with a piano sliding down the stairs and landing on Tom. He comes to at the entrance of a cloud-level train station.
A feline gatekeeper delivers the news: Tom's record of cruelty is on file, and the Heavenly Express won't take him unless he returns with Jerry's signed letter of forgiveness within an hour. Fail that deadline, and the other destination is waiting. Hanna and Barbera flip their own formula here entirely — Tom is not the pursuer but the supplicant, and the clock turns out to be a far more effective antagonist than Jerry ever was.
