Synopsis

Sveta is twenty-nine. She works at an aquarium, avoids anything that cuts too deep, and runs her life on a kind of practiced numbness. When someone approaches her to go public with a harassment accusation against her former professor Rudin — a man she once had an affair with — she agrees to hear it out. Then she realizes she is still in love with him. She decides to defend him instead. Doing that means walking back into the part of her past she has been carefully not looking at. The film is less interested in the accusation as a legal or social question than in what it forces Sveta to confront: why she stopped letting anyone close, and what it might actually cost to stop running.
