Synopsis
La Madrastra (2005), known in Russia as Мачеха, is a Mexican telenovela from Televisa you can watch online on iFILM. Victoria Ruffo and César Évora lead the cast. María goes on a trip with friends and comes back charged with murder — framed, convicted, sentenced to life. Her husband Esteban doesn't fight for her. He goes home and tells their children their mother died in an accident.
Twenty years later, María is released early. She returns to Mexico under a different name with a plan: get close to the children she lost and settle accounts with everyone who abandoned her. The show aired five nights a week on Canal de las Estrellas and became one of the network's unexpected breakout hits, pulling over 30 rating points in its 2005 run.
