Synopsis
When in Rome (Rom, 2024) is a Danish dramedy you can watch online on iFILM. Gerda and Kristoffer head to the city where she once studied art to mark 35 years of marriage.
The plan was a quiet anniversary for two. Then, somewhere in the Roman backstreets, Gerda runs into Johannes, her old art teacher and the man she once loved. Kristoffer slowly slips to the edge of the frame while his wife chases her younger self and tries to settle accounts with the ghosts of her past. Bodil Jørgensen and Rolf Lassgård play a couple who suddenly realize how little they know each other after three decades side by side.
Director Niclas Bendixen delivers a soft-spoken, 99-minute slice of European cinema about aging, the roads not taken, and the idea that a marriage sometimes has to be chosen all over again.
