A brutal drought is pushing Annie's family toward losing everything, and the only way out is prize money — the kind you win at the Krumpets Dog Show in London. So a scrappy mutt with no pedigree lines up against trained champions in the agility ring. There's just one snag: Runt freezes the instant a crowd is watching. Lily LaTorre leads as Annie, backed by a roster of Australian favorites including Jai Courtney, Celeste Barber and Deborah Mailman.

Director John Sheedy adapts Craig Silvey's much-loved children's novel into something kind without turning gooey, full of real outback scenery and jokes that don't talk down to kids. A solid pick for a family movie night with anyone aged six and up. Stream Runt (2024) online on iFILM.
