Synopsis
The Severed Sun (2025) is a British folk horror you can watch online on iFILM. A young woman named Magpie lives in a closed religious settlement ruled by her father, a pastor whose word is law and whose punishments play out in front of everyone.
Worn down by a brutal husband, she takes a desperate step — and that same night something steps out of the surrounding forest, drawn to her in a way she can't explain. As neighbours start whispering about a 'Beast' among the trees, suspicion curdles into paranoia and the community's hunt for a culprit slips out of anyone's control. Director Dean Puckett delivers a slow, oppressive parable about faith, guilt and female rage, all in a tight eighty minutes. Emma Appleton, Toby Stephens and Jodhi May lead.
