Synopsis

While the Spartans fell at Thermopylae, another front opened at sea. Athenian general Themistocles fights to unite a fractured Greece against the Persian invasion. His enemy is Artemisia, commander of Xerxes' navy, forged by revenge and merciless in battle. Eva Green plays her, and she carries the whole picture. The cast also features Sullivan Stapleton, Lena Headey and Rodrigo Santoro.
Blood, slow motion, that bronze-tinted frame — the style of the first film moves onto burning warships and ramming galleys. The story is drawn from Frank Miller's graphic novel Xerxes.
