Wings

Wings (Ot vinta 3D, 2012) is a Russian animated feature about talking airplanes that you can watch online on iFILM. This family comedy-adventure unfolds in the weeks before a huge air show, where a young Su-27 jet named Knight has just started training under a squad of seasoned flying aces.

Knight keeps skipping his lessons, though, because he has fallen head over wings for Lightning, a graceful little aircraft. The catch: Lightning works for Thunder, a cruel rival fighter plotting to wreck the rookie's chances. To win her over, foil Thunder's scheme and still take the show's big race, Knight will need more nerve than he knew he had — plus a couple of loyal friends.

The Russian voice cast includes Alexey Frandetti, Alexander Golovin, Anfisa Chekhova and veteran actor Valentin Gaft. Aimed squarely at younger viewers and anyone who loves machines that fly, it offers bright 3D animation, a simple story about courage and loyalty, and nothing scary (rated 0+).
