Synopsis
Pets United (2019) is an animated family film directed by Reinhard Klooss — watch it online on iFILM. Natalie Dormer and Eddie Marsan voice the leads in this German-Chinese-British co-production about a city where robots do everything and animals live pampered lives.
Robo-City runs on automation: robots handle the cleaning, the deliveries, the peace-keeping. Everyone is comfortable. Everyone except Roger, a scruffy stray dog who steals food from the spoiled pets of the wealthy and hands it out to the strays who have nothing. Belle, a sleek and thoroughly self-satisfied house cat, finds him infuriating. Then the robots malfunction. Then they turn hostile. Suddenly the gap between pampered and homeless doesn't matter very much.
Roger and Belle have to work together to protect the humans — two animals who would normally cross the street to avoid each other, now the city's last line of defence.
