Synopsis
Zītaru dzimta (The Zitar Family, 1990) is a Latvian drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Adapted from the novel by Vilis Lācis, it follows a single peasant clan through a turning point in history.
The story opens in the early decades of the 20th century. Revolution has already swept through Russia, while a newly bourgeois Latvia is only finding its feet. The plain Zitar family is forced to choose: throw in their lot with the revolutionaries or make peace with the order of the young republic.
