Synopsis

Maksim, a young philologist from St. Petersburg, arrives in the village of Rusalino to collect folk songs and rituals for his academic paper. His student Liuba has followed him, convinced the trip will bring them closer — she has been in love with him for years. But Rusalino has other plans. Maksim meets Rada, a Romani girl, and the encounter upends everything he thought he knew about himself.
