Synopsis

He comes to in a hospital bed with no memory of how he got there. His family won't speak to him, the committal runs a full week, and walking out isn't an option. At first the roommates grate on him, the staff feel distant, and his head is stuck on Nina, a girl in another wing. Day by day, though, these strangers stop being strangers: a fire that empties the ward, a quiet escape, small pleasures, and one accident that lands hard on everyone. By Saturday Daniele admits something odd — this might have been the sanest week he's ever had.
