Synopsis
Arabela (1980) is a Czechoslovak family fairy-tale series you can watch online on iFILM. The ring of a magic bell opens a door between worlds, and two visitors slip into an ordinary city: a second-rate wizard named Rumburak and the runaway princess Arabela.
The girl from the storybook kingdom falls for a plain young man, Petr, and becomes his fiancée, while his family slowly adjusts to a bride who treats sorcery as an everyday chore. The catch is that the sulking Rumburak keeps scheming to wreck the wedding and seize control again. Director Václav Vorlíček, a master of the Czech screen fairy tale, blends magic with cozy early-1980s domestic life across thirteen episodes that a whole generation grew up on throughout the USSR and Eastern Europe.
