Season 1
Every case leaves its mark.
Synopsis
Young Wallander (2020), Season 1 is a Netflix Nordic noir you can watch online on iFILM — six episodes set in present-day Malmö. It reboots Henning Mankell's famous detective as a green rookie cop years before the inspector's badge.
Fresh out of the academy, Kurt Wallander stumbles onto a brutal hate crime on his own doorstep, and the killing lights a fuse under the city's anti-immigration tensions. He's fast-tracked to detective over his friend Reza and paired with the veteran Hemberg. The clues run through a smuggler, a nightclub and billionaire Gustav Munck, whose ties to the case stay conveniently murky. When the prime suspect is gunned down, everyone calls it closed. Kurt doesn't.
This is slow-burn crime drama, more interested in a queasy social backdrop than in shootouts. Adam Pålsson plays the future inspector quiet and stubborn. The finale, built around a cache of plastic explosive, pushes the case toward a citywide threat. Stream Young Wallander Season 1 online on iFILM.
