Synopsis
This Town (2024) is a British music drama you can watch online on iFILM. Early 1980s, Coventry and Birmingham, street fights and political heat in the air. A handful of young men, each carrying his own scars, fall into starting a band together.
What pulls them through is ska and two-tone, the sound that rose from these working-class cities and put black, white and Asian kids on one stage. Home means chaos and violence; rehearsal is the one room where they get to be themselves. The series rests on fresh faces, Levi Brown, Jordan Bolger, Ben Rose and Eve Austin, with Paul Whittington directing.
It was written by Steven Knight, the man behind Peaky Blinders, and his fingerprints are all over it: the same grim English streets, only this time the kids are reaching for guitars instead of razors.
