At the Bottom (2023) is a Russian series you can watch online on iFILM. Stepa is 28, fresh out of prison on parole, and his ambitions are modest: train as a high-end plumber and build a life in Moscow. The plan collapses on day one of freedom.

He inherits his grandmother's old room in Nizhny Novgorod — and her dark history along with it. It turns out she ran a stash drop for a crooked cop, who now wants her debt settled: 2.5 million rubles, or Stepa heads straight back behind bars. On top of that, the building holding his new apartment is slated for demolition to make room for a shopping mall. So the ex-con ends up, to his own surprise, fighting for the tenants' rights.
