Synopsis
The Illusionist (2006) is a period mystery romance you can watch online on iFILM. In turn-of-the-century Vienna, a stage magician named Eisenheim (Edward Norton) performs feats so strange that audiences whisper about real sorcery.
One night the crown prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell) attends a show with his bride-to-be, Sophie (Jessica Biel). Years earlier, Eisenheim and Sophie were childhood sweethearts pulled apart by class. Now the magician bends his craft into a dangerous gambit to win her back, while a sharp-eyed police inspector, Uhl (Paul Giamatti), digs for the trick behind the wonder.
Directed by Neil Burger from Steven Millhauser's short story "Eisenheim the Illusionist," the film pairs a hypnotic Philip Glass score with Oscar-nominated cinematography by Dick Pope.
