Daring (Likhie, 2024) is Yuri Bykov's crime drama about the 1990s in Russia's Far East, and you can watch online on iFILM. The Khabarovsk region, deep taiga. Senior ranger and bear hunter Pavel Likhovtsev keeps an apiary and raises his son Zhenya by hard backwoods rules — until the new decade puts the old way of life to the knife.

The apiary is wrecked, so the family moves to Khabarovsk hoping for something better. But the city is already carved up: everything is falling to the gang known as Obshchak, on its way to becoming one of the most feared criminal outfits in the country. Pavel takes a driving job for Yura Krab — a former village neighbor and Zhenya's godfather — and barely notices when he ends up at the dead center of the gang wars. From there the choices aren't really his; the era makes them. You're daring, or you're gone.
