Synopsis
Melodiya lyubvi (Melody of Love, 2018) is a Russian romance drama you can watch online on iFILM. Dina is a personal assistant at a big Moscow firm, well paid and firm about one rule: no office affairs, no matter how openly her boss admires her.
Every Friday her walk home passes a band of street musicians playing rock and roll. She always gives their good-looking frontman a cold, dismissive look — a grown man busking with a guitar, she figures, has nothing to be proud of. Then she loses her job overnight. A new position turns up fast, but the company's director turns out to be Igor Volin, that very same street guitarist. Andrei Chadov and Olga Smirnova lead the cast, with Natalya Uglitskikh directing.
From there it's a familiar but sincerely told story about how badly first impressions can mislead. Why a successful businessman would trade the stage for the pavement is something Dina works out slowly. An easy evening pick for fans of unfussy Russian melodrama with a clear, warm payoff.
