Synopsis

Sixteen-year-old Lina Vilkas had been preparing her art portfolio for a prestigious academy. Now she is travelling to a Siberian labor camp with her mother and younger brother, her father arrested and taken separately. She keeps drawing in secret — guards, barracks, the faces around her on the transport. The drawings are not heroics; they are survival by witness.
Bel Powley leads the cast alongside Lisa Loven Kongsli and Martin Wallström. Director Marius Markevicius adapted the novel by Ruta Sepetys, whose book has been taught in schools across multiple countries precisely because the deportation of Baltic nations remains little known outside the region.
