The Unlikely Murderer (Den osannolika mördaren, 2021) is a Swedish crime drama series you can watch online on iFILM. On the evening of 28 February 1986, Prime Minister Olof Palme was shot on a Stockholm street — no security detail, no advance warning, just a walk home from the cinema with his wife. The case was never officially solved.

The series follows Stig Engström, an advertising executive at the Skandia insurance company who was near the scene and spent decades as the prime suspect — while somehow evading every serious consequence. Robert Gustafsson plays him not as a monster but as an ordinary man whose luck held long past any reasonable explanation. Mikael Persbrandt and Eva Melander round out a cast that treats the story with the restraint it demands. Director Charlotte Brandström frames this not as a whodunit but as a character study.
