Synopsis
Bad Weather (2018) is a Russian drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Director Sergei Ursuliak — known for Liquidation and the 2015 adaptation of Quiet Flows the Don — adapted Aleksei Ivanov's novel about men who came back from Afghanistan to find that their country no longer existed. Set in a 1990s Ural industrial city, the series traces what happens when soldiers try to live inside a peace that has nothing left to offer them.
German Nevolin (Alexander Gorbatov) is an armored-car driver and a former Afghan veteran. He pulls off an audacious 140-million-ruble heist, then goes into hiding in an abandoned village called Nenastye — Bad Weather. The show doesn't explain him away.
