Synopsis
Angels & Demons (2009) is Ron Howard's mystery thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon, played by Tom Hanks, is summoned to Vatican City on the worst possible night. The pope has died, the conclave is gathering to choose his successor, and someone means to drown that ritual in blood.
Four leading cardinals vanish from under the Church's watch. The claim of responsibility comes from a brotherhood thought extinct for centuries — the Illuminati. Langdon and physicist Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer) have only hours: the captives are to be killed one by one, and a canister of antimatter ticks somewhere beneath St. Peter's. The clues hide inside Rome's churches and squares, legible only to a man who reads old symbols. Ewan McGregor, Stellan Skarsgård and Armin Mueller-Stahl round out the cast.
