Synopsis

Summer 1947, rural Warwickshire. Country doctor Faraday (Gleeson) is called to Hundreds Hall — a Georgian manor where his mother once worked as a housemaid, a house he watched as a boy with something close to longing. He returns now as a professional. The Ayres family is still there: the elderly Mrs. Ayres (Rampling), her wounded son Roderick (Will Poulter), her guarded daughter Caroline (Ruth Wilson). The estate is crumbling. And something in it, or near it, refuses to leave.
