Daddio

Daddio (2024) is an American drama written and directed by Kris Thykier — watch it online on iFILM. Dakota Johnson plays a woman riding a cab from JFK; Sean Penn is the driver. That's essentially the whole setup. For the next 101 minutes, they talk — and writer-director Christy Hall makes that conversation do more heavy lifting than most action films manage with twice the budget.

Penn's cabbie has a habit of reading people correctly and saying so out loud, which puts Johnson's character in the uncomfortable position of being genuinely seen by a stranger.
