Synopsis

This time the story runs on money, and there is none. Matt learns his fortune has vanished and starts grabbing at anything — shady invitations, even a gig hosting a game show — to avoid selling his beach house. While networks fight over Sean and Beverly's new pilot, Sean's old writing partner Tim resurfaces and methodically poisons the well, muscling his way in as a third author nobody wants. Off to the side, Carol and Helen stumble into a romance that neither of them can quite name out loud.
David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik's final season softens the venom of the one before it: less despair, more warmth toward these burned-out people. LeBlanc turns his alter ego's humiliations into the show's sharpest laughs. If the dry British wit and the ugly underside of the TV business were your thing, the story lands a fitting last note here.
