Margherita has a difficult time believing Carlo's version of what transpired between him and Sofía in the bathroom.

An overwhelmed Sofía decides to leave Milan. Tensions rise between Carlo and Margherita as their arguments reach a turning point.

Carlo and Margherita continue to keep secrets from each other as their lies escalate. Sofía and her fellow students attend an event at the university.

Margherita decides to follow her gut, while Carlo does the same and their respective desires threaten to lead them on different paths.

Carlo and Margherita are each enjoying success in their new careers when a chance encounter leaves them wondering about their future.
