Восемь городских этапов по всей стране. Участники преодолевают полосы препятствий — прыжки, захваты, вращающиеся снаряды — и большинство вылетает раньше финиша. Те, кто прошли городской финал, едут в Лас-Вегас на национальный этап; лучшие оттуда летят в Японию. Приз — миллион долларов, трасса — копия японского «Сасукэ», который годами отправлял в воду сильнейших атлетов мира. Первый сезон скромнее поздних по постановке: никаких звёзд в составе, никаких трогательных биографий — только снаряды и люди, решившие попробовать.
