Tony Stark lands in Japan and walks straight into a robot ambush. Iron Man (アイアンマン, 2010) is Marvel's anime reimagining from Studio Madhouse, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Across twelve episodes the billionaire inventor trades his usual American backdrop for a Japanese one, where the rules of the game shift under his feet.

Stark comes to build the Arc Station, a clean reactor that runs without fossil fuel, and to hand his Iron Man armor over to local mass production. The launch ceremony is shattered when battle machines from a shadow group called Zodiac attack, each unit named for a sign of the horoscope. To survive, Stark suits up in the new Dio armor and is pulled into a fight against tech that was clearly engineered to beat him.

Madhouse, the studio behind Death Note, redrew the hero in full anime style: sharp lines, towering mecha, an Eastern rhythm to the action, with character designs overseen by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto.
