Muppets from Space

Muppets from Space (1999) is a family sci-fi comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Tim Hill, the film finally answers the question that Gonzo fans had been asking for years: where exactly does this weird blue creature come from? Turns out — outer space.

It all kicks off when Gonzo's breakfast cereal rearranges itself into an alien message. His attempts to respond attract the attention of a paranoid government agent played by Jeffrey Tambor, who promptly locks Gonzo up in a secret facility. The rest of the Muppets — Kermit, Miss Piggy, Rizzo — launch a chaotic rescue mission before the alien spacecraft gives up and heads home. Ray Liotta, Hulk Hogan and F. Murray Abraham all show up in the chaos, which says something about this film's casting director.

Unlike most Muppet outings, this one skips the big musical numbers and leans into straight-up adventure comedy. The emotional core is genuinely effective: a misfit finally learning he belongs somewhere, and then choosing where he wants to stay. Great for kids, easy to rewatch as an adult.
