Sick Note (2017) is a British black comedy series you can watch online on iFILM. Daniel Glass is a small-time loser with a dead-end job and a lie always ready. Then a spectacularly bad oncologist hands him a terminal diagnosis.

Something odd happens next: everyone gets nicer. His boss, his girlfriend, his parents — suddenly attentive, suddenly kind. When it turns out the cancer was never there, just a mistake, Daniel faces a choice — own up and slink back to his grey old life, or keep playing the dying man. He picks the lie. From there it snares blackmail, other people's secrets, and an accomplice: the very doctor now in too deep to back out.

Rupert Grint leads, with Nick Frost as the hapless GP, and season two brings in Lindsay Lohan and Don Johnson. The humour is mean and squirmy, in the British sitcom tradition of a man digging his own hole ever deeper. It lands for anyone who likes comedy that makes you wince and laugh at once.
