Synopsis
The Politician (2019), Season 1 is Ryan Murphy's Netflix satire, eight episodes you can watch online on iFILM. Payton Hobart has known since he was seven that he'll be president of the United States — but his first electorate is the senior class at Saint Sebastian High.
The race for student body president plays out like a real campaign, knives and all. Payton needs a running mate who makes him look authentic, then a rival shows up with the kind of charisma money can't buy. From there it spirals into a scandalous tape, betrayals, a hardball game with Harvard admissions, and a frantic push for a handful of undecided voters — one of whom couldn't care less about politics. A family crisis keeps dragging Payton backward, and election day detonates into an assassination plot and a reckoning with everyone's ambition, his included.
