Synopsis
The Wonder Years (1988–1993) is an ABC coming-of-age series you can watch online on iFILM. Fred Savage plays Kevin Arnold, a suburban kid navigating junior high against the backdrop of late-1960s America — Vietnam, the counterculture, and the particular tension of a country trying to hold itself together. Adult Kevin's narration, voiced by Daniel Stern, connects the dots between memory and meaning.
Kevin lives in a house that's one argument away from falling apart: an exasperated father (Dan Lauria), a mother who quietly absorbs everything, an older brother who makes Kevin's life difficult on principle. At school there's best friend Paul and the girl next door Winnie Cooper (Danica McKellar), who means more to Kevin than he's ready to admit. Each of the 100-plus episodes is built around a single memory — the kind you carry without intending to.
Creators Carol Black and Neal Marlens landed an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series in the show's debut year. What they built holds up because it doesn't soften the era or the awkwardness: the 1960s setting is texture, not a costume. Stream all six seasons of The Wonder Years online on iFILM.
