Hey Arnold! (1996) is a Nickelodeon animated series you can watch online on iFILM, created by Craig Bartlett. Arnold — a fourth-grader with a football-shaped head — lives with his grandparents Phil and Gertie at the Sunset Arms boarding house in the fictional city of Hillwood, a place that feels like a warmer, weirder version of a Pacific Northwest city.

His parents vanished years ago on a humanitarian mission abroad, but the show treats that absence as background texture rather than constant drama. Arnold navigates city life: mediating disputes, looking out for his neighbors, getting into trouble with his best friend Gerald. The secret engine of the series is Helga Pataki — his most vocal bully, who maintains a hidden shrine to him and delivers some of the funniest inner-monologue comedy in 1990s animation. The show ran until 2004, and fan demand eventually produced a feature-length finale in 2017, Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie, that finally resolved his parents' story.
