Synopsis

Kevin Arnold enters Robert F. Kennedy Junior High in the autumn of 1968. His neighbour Winnie Cooper has just lost her brother in Vietnam, and their first kiss happens in the shadow of that grief — neither of them has words for it yet. The season follows Kevin through the first weeks of junior high, a quiet afternoon at his father's office that shifts how he sees the man, and his older sister Karen's new boyfriend, whom Kevin immediately dislikes. Through it all, adult Kevin narrates from decades away, finding wry distance in what once felt impossible. Six episodes is brief, but Season 1 establishes the show's particular tone — nostalgia without sentimentality — faster than most series manage in twice the time.
