This run is about two kinds of pack. Jana, raised in the wild with no school and no phone, arrives with her hard-edged father Alric, a leader who brings his own rules, old grudges, and plenty of jealousy. Maddy keeps having to pick a side — through a school election, a lunar eclipse, a creepy luring house, an exiled wolf hungry for revenge. And all the while a forensic scientist, Dr Whitewood, edges closer to a sample of DNA and the secret behind it.
