The Dresden Files (2007) is an urban-fantasy detective series you can watch online on iFILM. Harry Dresden is the only Chicago wizard who actually lists himself in the phone book under "Wizard."

For five hundred bucks a day, Harry (Paul Blackthorne) takes the cases the police won't touch — werewolves, black magic, the occasional vengeful ghost. His partner Bob is the spirit of a long-dead sorcerer bound to a skull, and he's insufferably smug about it (Terrence Mann). Lieutenant Connie Murphy (Valerie Cruz) keeps calling Harry to crime scenes while refusing to believe a word he says. It all draws on Jim Butcher's bestselling novels.

The Sci Fi Channel gave it a single twelve-episode season and pulled the plug, so the larger arc never pays off. Even so, the tone lands: hardboiled PI meets supernatural Chicago, light on the effects budget. A good fit if you liked Constantine or a solid case-of-the-week.
