El Chapo (2017) is a Mexican-American crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. Marco de la O stars as Joaquín Guzmán across three seasons that trace his trajectory from a low-level runner for the Guadalajara Cartel in the late 1980s through the wars, bribes, and breakouts that eventually made him the most wanted drug trafficker in the world. Director Ernesto Contreras keeps the series grounded in logistics rather than legend: border tunnels, cartel politics, backroom deals with Mexican officials, and the constant threat of rivals who want the Sinaloa routes for themselves. Guzmán's two escapes from maximum-security prisons — both of which actually happened — are shown here not as action-movie set pieces but as the product of money and patience.
